Opal Sands Resort

on beautiful Clearwater Beach in Florida reached out to many local artists to adorn its new beachfront hotel and resort.

This stunning work of art is a chain of undulating colored rings that capture the play of light reflecting off the Gulf of Mexico. The shimmering sculpture is suspended above the main escalator, bathing guests in color as they enter the hotel, an experience that mimics the feeling of rising from beneath the waves.

Renowned international artist Christopher Still approached Mark with a concept for the Opal Sands Resort. The artists worked together to design and fabricate Chris’s vision of this transcendent Ascent that would become an integral to the resort experience. Mark’s knowledge of materials and processes combined with Chistopher’s keen eye for color worked in synchronicity to realize the clients goals of helping their guests to escape from their daily work experience.
