MGA was selected to design and fabricate a sculptural icon for the new Police Regional Training Institute in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The sculpture takes on the likeness of a deconstructed ammonite shell. The design for Acumen was inspired by this ancient shell fossil found throughout the state of Colorado, symbolic of skills perfected through layers of repeated action.Training is a refining process, the natural development of skills through repetition until actions are second nature. Ammonites also mature in this layered manner, progressing through growth chambers as they develop.

Commissioned by the Cities of Loveland and Fort Collins, Colorado.
